Pajamas Needed

In lieu of a Christmas Party, our class will be donating pajamas to the Scholastic Reading Club Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive benefiting Pajama Program, a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need - especially those living in group homes, shelters, foster care, and orphanages.  Scholastic Reading Club will send books to accompany our pajama donations!!

Our class wants to be a part of this drive so that we can help make a better bedtime for these children. Together we can help the Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive reach even more kids with pajamas and books.

If you and your child are able to participate, please have your child bring in a new pair of pajamas to school by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH!

Here are some simple guidelines for the pajamas:

• Pajamas must be brand new.
• Pajamas in all sizes are needed - from newborn to adult.
• Pajamas must be in complete sets or nightgowns.
• Pajamas in children's sizes must be manufactured as pajamas - this ensures that they are flame-retardant and safe.

Our Thanksgiving Feast

We had a wonderful time at our Thanksgiving Feast!!  We dressed up like Native American Indians and the teachers and our parents dressed up like pilgrims.  It was a lot of fun dressing up and eating our feast together with Ms. Kristen's class.

We loved dressing up in our Native American Indian costumes and playing in centers, before our feast!

We all really liked our Native American Indian names that Ms. Tanya picked for us!

I Week

We had a great week learning about the letter I, the number 9, and the color pink.

We added another page to our alphabet book.  We made insects out of the letter I.

We worked hard all week on our Native American Indian costumes for our Thanksgiving Feast next week. We made headbands and necklaces.  We also helped Ms. Tanya decorate our Native American Indian shirts!  We can't wait for you to see our costumes at our Thanksgiving Feast!!!!!

Next week will be a SHORT week, because of Thanksgiving!!  We will enjoy our Thanksgiving Feast on Monday! :)

When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will be learning about the letter J, the number 10, and the shape, square! 

Patterson Farm

We had a lot of fun on our field trip to the pumpkin patch at Patterson Farm! 

We got to feed the animals in the barn.

We made a scarecrow, just like they put in the gardens at Patterson Farm!

We took a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch.

We had a lot of fun picking out our pumpkins!

B Week

We had a great week learning about the letter B, the color blue, and the number 2.

We added another page into our alphabet book.  We glued brown beans onto the letter B.

We got to use yellow and red paint to create a fire scene.  We used our hands to mix the colors!!

Then, we added a fire truck to our painted fire scene.

Ms. Veronica came and helped us make blueberry muffins.  

We ate blueberry muffins and bananas for snack!

We have so much fun at Show and Tell on Fridays!

We love seeing our self portraits in the hallway!!

We enjoyed our visit from the fire trucks this week!  You can see all of the pictures here.  The Iredell County Fire Marshals Office also came to talk to us about fire safety.  We all got a pretend  "smoke alarm" with a battery to use in our real smoke alarm at home!

Next week, we will be learning about the letter C, the number 3, and the color yellow.  We will also have picture day on Wednesday, October 9th!! :)
